Thanks for the response. I'll give that a shot. I've had Redline MT-90 in my 300ZX, and it seemed to make things a bit smoother. Some in the Z community were recommending RP, but I never got the chance to try it. I actually think the shifting in my G has been very smooth so far, but I was thinking more in terms of improved viscosity retention for the occasional track day.

I've used both Redline and Royal Purple in my cars over the years. What I noticed is both are much smoother then factory fluid, but the Royal Purple seems to stay smoother longer.

I was able to locate a local distributor for the Shell Spriax S 75W90. They come in 5-gal. pails or 50-gal. barrels :O

Going rate is only $3.19/gal. I'm definitely going to pick some up!

As for expectation ... the oem fluid is going to be tough to beat before optimal temp is reached. I'm looking for durability at and above operating temperature.

Do I hear a group buy chip in on a 50 gal barrel?

Clint be sure to give us a nice, long, detailed review after you've used it for some time on the streets and track.

Ohhh BOOGERS!!!

There appears to be a miscommunications regarding the cost of the Shell Spirax S oil. It's $3.15 per pound not gallon! Doh!!!

That explains why I was thinking to myself, "Man this stuff is dirt cheap!!!" from the distributor. Actually, it's still a very very cheap compare to retail price of competing products (i.e Redline, Royal Purple).

The good new is they also stock the 12-qrt cases (in single qrt bottles) in addition to the 5-gal. pail and 50-gal. drum.

Here's the break down in cost:

12 qrt. case is: $6.25/qrt
5-gal. pail: $5.50/qrt

As you can see ... much much cheaper than even the OEM stuff (less than 1/2 the price. I'm thinking of getting the 12-qrt. case, which is enough to fill more than 3 cars.

Is anyone interested in splitting the oil???

I know this is an old thread but I'm thinking about putting redline mt-90 into my manual tranny. I've heard that with synthetics, the synchros wear out quicker. Anybody have any input?
