O.K. went to CHARLES BARKER INFINITI because my tranni was grinding 3rd gear. tech said my clutch i fried. 3g's since its not under warantee(sp) and if i go after market with act or what not it will void my warantee act clutch and flywheel package $947 ( i know enough to know that its not.) so i said i want a second opinion so i made an appointment at richmond, and at cottman transmission. went to cottman today. master tech there. says clutch is fine its an internal prob. probably the syncronizer. took it back to CB infiniti. their lead tech told me no its not, its the clutch. and went for a spin with me told me see your clutch is slipping looked at his foot it was half way engaged of course its gonna #$%#ing slip. i told him that i built my last car and do alot of work on cars and its not the clutch. it would do it more than just 3rd gear. he said thats not true. so i told him to let the clutch all the way out and see if it slips. 3rd gear revs out to like 5grand dumps clutch tires spin. i say hmmm didnt slip that time. he got mad, got a tude, and drove back to the dealer. tranni shop says sounds like an okydoke. since he dealer wouldnt make anything off of warantee stuff they want me to pay 3gs which should pay for a clutch and tranni. and they will put it in with out me knowing so they dont look wrong. makes sense. I think. any opinions? infinti tech also said that the tranni wasnt slowing down enough togo in gear i had to let slow and then it is fine so after i leftthe dealer. i was at a dead stop idle stood on the clutch and still grinded 3rd. hmmmm maybe idle isnt a low enough rpm? gotta get to richmond infinti and see what they say. tranni shop said etch my name in the tranni case with an etcher and see if they change it. then rip em a new a$$ if they do. I will post agian after i get done wih richmond infinti.

Sounds to me like it is time for a new dealer/service depot...
Then be sure and tell the General Manager you left due their BS

 

yea i would really have to hate to drive an hour and a half cuz the techs are idiots here, but you gotta do what ou gotta do. i guess
