I think the B&M is pretty good...is that the one that is available on Summit?
In any case, unless you're really beating on it or have something like a high stall TC, I'm not sure if it's really neccessary. Probably can't hurt though

All the coolers you show should work. I went with the small 16,000# GVW B&M cooler as that's 3.5 times the gross vehicle weight of my sedan. Probably what sold me on the B&M unit was that they claim their ATF coolers won't overcool. While the other manufacturers unit may offer the same feature, I couldn't find where they said so.

I talked to Andre at Edge Racing Converters about a cooler . He said if your motor doesnt run hot , you dont need one . If it does ...he suggested getting only the ones that have a thermastat in it . Running to cool of fluid can hurt performance

I agree, if the car isn't heavily modded and putting alot of additional heat to the tranny, just let it be.

SFLG35:

If something is too cool, it'll won't be running at optimal levels. Think of if someone put some sort of massive oil cooler and it somehow got the oil to run cold the whole time...it probably wouldn't be very good. That was a dumb example but hopefully it gets the idea across.

Any of those should work. Any heat taken out of the tranny is good, and would add to its life, especilly if raced.

Well said... as long as ATF isn't overcooled.

As stated above I've installed a B&M ATF Cooler - pictured below. Along with that I have an Edge Racing Torque Converter (I've talked with Andre at length) and a Stillen Valve Body upgrade. This combination of mods works well for me.

For those who missed Keepin' the VQ Cool in the Spring Issue of Sport Z here are a couple of pictures of the stock AT radiator. Note the core thickness and AT cooler connections.

The real question is......

How hard do you drive your car? Do you really pound it? If not, this mod is probably of little to no value for you.
