Tranny clatter at idle?

I get a noise that sounds like rocks in my tranny at idle with the clutch engaged. Any one else? Sounds like a bad input shaft bearing or gear clatter to me.

Hmmm... when I say clutch engaged I mean foot off the pedal. Is that when you hear the noise?

Clutch

Yes, when foot off the pedal, I hear those sounds too. It's been covered before on this forum, and it seems like it's normal.

I hate that noise... Only happens in Tim Horton's drive throughs... When lot's of people are walking by... Damn thing sounds like a noisy diesel truck sometimes. Usually you can remedy it by throwing in the clutch and rocking forward or backwards. No noticable drivability issues...

Took it to the dealer and I couldn't recreate the sound... Maybe I should take them to a Timmy's drive through. LOL

LOL that is exactly where I first noticed mine making the same noise. I think it is b/c the sound echos off the building. It also makes the same noise when you turn the car off with the clutch out.

Bugs me as well and sometimes it seems worse than others.

i went to the dealer to look at that same problem.

told me that it's basically the dual mass flywheels spinning down and since there's no pressure on them, hence the noise of the 2 flywheels rattling. i'm told ALL G35's and Z's with 6MT's do this, regardless.

did a thorough inspection on the gearbox and clutch and nothing wrong with either. oh well, just have to get used to it i guess. it's such an awful sound isn't it?

I'll bring this one back from the dead.

Yes my car makes that same noise. It much more noticable now during idle with the clutch engaged. When I press down on the clutch it goes away.

The stealership said it was normal, actually 3 different dealers told me so.

I guess I have to live with it

Man if you thing that is bad. I replaced my clutch and flywheel when I went Blown. I got the ACT clutch and the Nismo lightend flywheel. And boy when I sit at a light with my foot off the clutch, it sounds like a cement mixing truck.
But it all makes up for it when i bang gears!!!
