Does your cruise control still work. The 3.9FD looks very tempting but I waiting for all of the little bugs to be worked out.

I actually had hopes that the 3.5 final drive would be .2 decrease in the quarter mile.

How much did it cost you to install the 6mt differential?

If the VQ35 acts anything like the VQ30, I think you can chalk up those gains mostly to the change in temp. I know my 96 Maxima was consistenly .25 and 2.5mph slower in 90+ degree weather compared to 60 degree weather. This was over 3 years of racing. Hell, I gave up racing in any weather above 70 degrees because of it.

Your trap speeds are really nice though. Dump those boat anchor rims and your 60 foot and ET would drop ~.15 and I'd think 100mph would be possible in the 1/4 mile.

your trap speed is good for low 14s and your launch could be better. Did u take the traction controll off?

Get your 60' down to 2.0-2.1 and you'll see 14 flat.

Mods:
AEM CAI
19'' rims
3.5 rearend

I made 5 passes before the new gears...
Conditions:
Sea level [Baytown, Tx race track]
Mid 90's
11PM

The fastest two times:
14.52 @ 97.13
14.55 @ 97.36

I made 3 passes after the new gears...
Conditions:
Sea level [Baytown, Tx race track]
Lower 60's
11PM

The two fastest times:
14.44 @ 98.44
14.47 @ 99.60

As you can see the weather shoulda been for me and helped me out alittle but it seems between both the 30 degree drop AND the 3.5 final drive I was only able to shave off 1/10 of a second... And I coulda sworn the car felt much faster.... maybe its just at freeway speed?

Gaw, I need the SC put on FAST!!
It could have been faster.......Did the traction get worse with the steeper gear?
Between possible poorer traction, the temp variation, and that your new ratio is not a lot different than OEM (3.36:3.5) , I'd say your tenth isn't too bad at all.
G/L with the SC. -- now that will be good for a 'few' more tenths.

now the 3.5 rearend of the 6MT should have the factory LSD on it where his original rearend didnt have it. so i would think that his traction would be a little better.

i know with the shorter gears his traction is reduced but i would think that adding a limited slip would overcome that.

?????????

i have a auto sedan that i have been working on, my next mod i was considering is the 3.9 gearing, but just havent been convinced yet. its a lot of money for only gears, been racing a while...

this may help

Lower your air preasure in your tires to 29 to 30 lb and your times will improve. I change the gearing in my 350 z to a 3.52 and picked up 3ths. 13.48 to 13.18. 300 RWHP.
Toyo ts 1. 275/35/19. There was more wheel spin with the new gears. Had to lanch at 750 rpm. 60 ft times 2.065 to 2.040. What tire do you have? If your run drag radials your times will improve.
