I asked them if they got on it and was told that they don't condone excessive driving. B.S. That wasn't what the salesman was saying prior to purchase. I bought a 298hp RWD sports car. I'm saving my service slip so in the future I can say this problem was hapening at 4000 miles. BTW, how much did the Jim Wolf clutch combo cost to have installed?
Good luck saving your slips. See my signature. I had brought my car back to Charlotte Infiniti with 1500 miles when it 1st happened, then at 3800 miles when it was continuing to happen on a weekly basis. Charlotte told me it was my driving I then brought it to Lake Norman Infiniti about 50 miles away. The service manager was very empatheitc to my situation and did the job for free. The compelte combo from Jim Wolf cost me $800. The flywheel alone is $400. I don't think Infiniti will ever own up to it unless the percentage of complaints sky rockets. Collectively, we are a small portion of G35 owners who are having this issue.

Good Luck.

Slipping Clutch

I think I'm going to give that guy a call. It would be a half day drive to get that far north(Georgia) but maybe if the guy agrees to it then I can call Infiniti of Jacksonville and say "Other dealerships are taking care of thier customers?" I could give it a shot. Are you happy with your clutch/flyweel?

Good Luck! So far, the JWT kit is exactly what I was looking for. I have now adapted to the new set up and love it. I'm just over 400 miles. Once I hit 500, I'll take it to the track and see what 60ft times I can pull. I'm shooting for 2.0 on the stock 18's. We'll see......

Slow slips

I took mine to Gainsville Raceway in FL last night and ran 14.3@99mph. I rolled out of the gate without dropping the clutch. It's just going to burn anyway. I think the production #'s are right at 14@100mph. Do you like the Borla?

Yes. The tone is just right. It's enough to know your there but not rice at all. I think the car breaths much better in the upper mid range to high rpms. I have only ran 3 times so far. I think I could have pulled a 13.7 or 13.8 with only the exhaust, intake tube and a clutch working at 100%. My 60ft times were not impressive at all.

I just spoke with the Lake Norman guy and he said that what he did for you was not protocal. He only did that because the Charlotte Infiniti had screwed you over so bad. I guess I need to find someone to install this thing. I am not paying the labor charges the dealership lists. If the way they treat the root problem is the same as an install problem they aren't going to back up the work anyway.

Hey guys, I can go one better. When my clutch 'stuck', it actually dropped to the floor and I had to use my other foot to pull it up!!!

It was partially engaged, and slipping like all get out, yes... the ol' clutch smell was in the air.

Wasn't a hard abusive launch either. I had been to the car wash to clean the engine bay and underneath along with a light rinse. (I then go home and put it on jack stands, take the wheels off and wipe it down from driveshaft to roof with "wax as you dry", and "Instant detailer", topped with "Final Inspection".)

The launch was pulling a slight rise and left hand turn onto the highway. Couple that with all the water and tire shine from the driveway there and it's easy to spin the rears even if you're granny is driving. Pissed me off for sure, but I wrote it off.

Now, (in another thread) "Ruh Row... clutch woes starting " it's at 7600 miles or so and less than a year old and I'm getting clutch smell like the darn thing has 175,000 miles on the clutch! The other day it revved to well over FIVE GRAND on what should have been a simple start, albeit it was a bit hurried because I had to do a U turn in a 4 way stop AND in a part of town that I wasn't about to hang around in for very long.

Wonder if I could talk the dealer to do the labor if I bought some REAL clutch parts to put in there over the hamburger clutch that's in there now? Hmmmmm

Hey the same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. As I was merging into traffic I shifted from 1st to 2nd and my clutch got stuck to the floor. I quickly pulled it out with my foot but I could already smell the burning. The smell of burned clutch lasted for the next two days. I haven't had a chance to take the car to the dealer yet but I definitely want to have this resolved. This is a major safety issue. I can't image what would've happened if I was making a left turn and the clutch just got stuck like that.

I have had this happen a few times now as well. To clarify some of the old arguments- while the clutch is sticking at around 3500 RPM from a hard launch, the clutch pedal is also stuck to the floor. I have had to pull the pedal out with my foot, so "Double clutching" would not work. As others have mentioned, this is an actual problem with the clutch- not just driver error. I have owned nothing but manuals for the last 17 years (my first car was a 1970 Nova with a thee speed column shift ) and I have NEVER burned a clutch before! I have had my 2006 coup since July and just passed 10K miles. I have ordered a new JWT clutch and flywheel as well, but I am on good terms with the guys at the dealership so they are changing it out for me as a warranty item. Maybe they are beginning to acknowledge this is an actual problem.

why not cause you think they will have a problem with your mods, or because you dont want them to mess up your rims? If it is the first of those two scenarios you are semi-retarded, because they won't say $hit about your rims and your drop

I am getting this problem now too.. Seems like it started after drving around in the snow.

It seems to stick most of the time near the bottom of the pedal (disengaged)

It's funny because the clutch isn't slipping and the stickyness will disapper after I row thru the gears for a little.

any advice?

This happened only once to me but now I don't feel safe driving the car anymore. I don't think I should feel that way. Safety, reliablity and dependablity are very important to me.
