Best Clutch/flywheel combo w/least chatter?

Okay time to replace my clutch. Looking for some feedback/experience with aftermarket clutch and flywheel combo's.I like the idea of the lighter flywheel and the benefits BUT not the chatter I'm hearing about. Does anyone know what the least noisy set up is. I just don't want my G to sound like a cement mixer coming down the street. TIA

Stock...otherwise, chatter will be there...you see, part of what makes a lighten flywheel lighter is that fact that they remove a huge rubber silencer from it...I don't believe that the harmonic balancer, but maybe it is...at first, i thought my JWT combo was annoying, but then I got used to it and I love it for what i bought it for, road racing...BTW, any lighten flywheel/clutch combo will kill your 60 ft times at the drag strip...just thought I'd add that...also, regarding the "cement mixer" sound...it's only if you're down in the wrong RPM's of the gear that it sounds like that...for instance, if I'm in 3rd at 3000 RPM and I down shift to 2nd (for whatever reason, like making a right hand turn or something), it drops to revs to like 2000rpm or lower and only then does it sound like a cement mixer.

Randy, we've got to hook up sometime at a meet or something. Our experiences with this car seem to differ from time to time and it just makes me think I'm completely nuts.

I just got the JWT Clutch and Flywheel put on this past Saturday and I can't believe how quiet it is. I can BARELY hear things with the windows down and the stereo off and I'm really trying to hear something. There is a very slight amount of noise/chatter from time to time, but nothing I'd call bothersome at all. I understand the 'dual mass' argument and the noise dampening issues, but this mod seems too good to be true.

Infact the S/C under vacuum is like 5-10 times louder than the new flywheel and that's with the K&N filter over the BOV.

The only thing I'm noticing is the 5th and 6th gears are harder to find now. Feels like the gates are no longer there and you can 'go past' 5th gear. Maybe I'll remove the shifter and see if the shift plate is in backwards...

Oh yeah, the car now revs up quite a bit faster under WOT. Definitely a fun mod to drive around with... Might have even freed up a few more hp to say the least. My initial impressions are real positive and after 200 miles of driving I've only stalled twice.

Thanks again for the feedback! I think I have worked pat the noise issue and I am mostly concerned now with the pedal pressure ( have a 60 round trip commute to work each day in b to b traffic). I am pretty much sold on this and I am about to go ahead and pull the trigger. neffster, next question... where did you purchase yours from? Thanks again guys.

I don't think our impressions differ much on this...I don't think it's obtrusive, I just think it's impossible to go with any aftermarket "lightened flywheel" and not have some noise...as far as your 5th and 6th gear issue goes...I needed to remove my shifter and adjust the gate after they installed mine...10 minute job and it fixed it right up...have fun...now watch your 60ft time at the drag strip...eeekkk!

pedal pressure is considerably lighter than stock...and, depending on how your installing adjusts it, engages a lot sooner. So means you're not traveling a foot up just to engage the clutch and a foot dow in traffic...mine engages in like 3 inches now...love it.

So is the JWT clutch/flywheel the consensus best bang for the buck, even for FI?
