Clutch engagement: Changed since new?
Clutch Engagement Point: Changed since new?
I noticed (and posted) that my clutch engaged at around .5" inch off the floor when new.
Now Its engaging around 2.5" off the floor.
Is this just a normal change that occurs after break-in?

Mine doesn't engage till at LEAST 4" off the floor. I wish we could put a clutch stop in there so I don't need to depress the clutch all the way.
To be honest, i bet I could get the clutch to be fully engaged after 3-4" of travel.
I have a 2005 Coupe however...

Your clutch is engaging at 2.5" off the floor. I wish mine did that. My '05 Coupe's clutch engages nearly at the top of travel. It took me awhile to adjust to that amount of travel. It hasn't changed since new and I have totally adapted to it.
I dislike the long pedal travel before engagement - I'm sort of short (5'8") and it's a bit of a chore to pull my leg back to get the pedal, then press all the way to the floor. Can it be redeuced, so it doesn't go so far back when released?

Yes, I wish I had the link for the DIY. Its on another board, can't remember which. But basically you lower the pedal a little bit by screwing in the slave master cylinder rod in relation to the pedal. There is a chance that you may not be disengaging the clutch fully since there is less travel available overall, but people made very good arguments that its safe if you don't change the travel by alot. I did it, and the car is much more driveable for me now. Feels less like a truck pedal and more like a passenger car.... Maybe someone else here can supply the link?
...mine did the same, it took a week or so before it went back to around the normal engage. point. I spoke with a tech before, and apparently some of the people doing the clutch adjustment have F'ed up the hydraulic component's and needed to get them replaced, at least under warranty though. So just a word of caution. Too low isn't good.
EDIT: Yeah, related to what he was talking about....

I have noticed this issue with my 04.5....It seems the clutch is now engaging all the way at the top of travel...and that its harder for me to "feel" the point where its actually grabbing....
