SGP Racing Engine / Tranny Packages

Could anyone who has done an engine or tranny swap post impressions of the upgrade?

Here is the page from SGP's site: http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/sgpravqmo.html

I keep thinking about getting one of these packages, and with winter coming the car would be sitting in the garage anyway.

Thanks!

I bought this package and I made 543whp at 12.5psi with a greddy tt kit. The car was a freaking beast......although I broke something. I don't know what. The car still runs, but it blows smoke. I shipped the car from Miami to SGP last Monday. It arrived this past Saturday. I should know what happened pretty soon. Anyway SGP has a great reputation and they build awesome motors. I would recommend them.

HUGE power! That must have been fun. How long before something broke?

Did you ship your car to them the first time as well? Or did you just have them ship you the engine and you did the install?

Thanks! Let me know what they say about the smoke.

5000 miles.....1000 break in miles and 4000 extremely hard miles.

I just shipped the motor the first time. I wish I would have just sent car and let them do the whole job from the beginning.

Thanks! Let me know what they say about the smoke.
I should know by Monday. They are working on the car this week. I think my problem is due to overheating. I wasn't even driving fast. I was on the highway doing about 70mph. When I looked down at my gauges my temp gauge was past the halfway mark. I shut her down and let her cool down. Everything was fine afterwards, I even took her to 135 mph and no overheating. The next day white smoke.

Crappy.

I have a similar problem - blowing white smoke as well. I'm loosing 45% compression in 2 cylinders. I think I'm just going to have a local shop rebuild it though. These guys know what they're doing and since I'm in Canada I don't have to worry about all the crap with getting the block across the border twice.

I'm running a procharger with an AA fuel system and eManage. I'm only going to increase the max boost to 10 lbs though. Looks like another good winter project!

The motor was pulled and cylinder #6 was fried. They also found a hose disconnected from the waste gate that caused the car to over boost. The motor was sent to the machine shop to see if any damage was done to the cylinder walls. I won't know until after the new year.
