5AT slow to down shift.

I just test drove my neighbor brand new and fully stock 2003.5 5AT sedan, identical to mine. First impression was that "man, this car downshift fast and smooth" comparing to my car which takes like a second to down shift from rolling at about 15mph on full gas paddle press. I have a 350z duct, Stillen intake, and 6 wire grounding and just did EZ CPU reset.

So what's the deal? Do you think I need to do a hard reset (disconnect battery for 12 hours) to get the 5AT to downshift more crisp since the 5AT has their own tranny ECU. Heard that the grounding kit to the tranny helps but not sure if I should.

BTW, even with new after market ECU it would still probably slow to downshift because the tranny have it's own ECU. Is this correct?

Any help is welcome.
Thanks,

Re: 5AT slow to down shift.

I have a 5AT coupe with about 5000 miles and have never done any ECU resets and I continue to be surprised at how well my trans shifts. It always seems to be in the right gear. I figure it "learned" what I like!!
By the way, someone told me that Infiniti has changed the shift program that they use on these cars several times in an effort to fine tune it. So if this is true (which I do not know for a fact), depending on when your car was mfg., you would have a different shift program. This may be another variable on the diffenences in auto shifting observations.

Re: 5AT slow to down shift.

Interesting, I am going to be taking my car for 7500 miles check up and I will ask them.

Thx
