Feeler VQ40DE bare block and heads

Debating on rather or not i'm going to sell my bare block VQ40DE and heads (can get the front and rear timing chain covers if wanted). Was going to go on a wild build, but i'm debating. If anyone is interested let me know.

Block will be bare. Currently the rear timing cover and crank are still attached.
Heads are complete with cams, valves, etc.
Will include front and rear timing covers and cam gear sprockets.

They are in great shape. Have about 40K on them.

$300.00 takes all of it.

Sean

I wonder if this would bolt up to a 6mt transmission and rev up heads. I assume the deck height is higher so that might be a problem

Heads should bolt up (I can check to make sure), the block is the same with an exception to the height, i would guess that it will. The dowel pins might be in a different location but the rest should line up.

Was the block bored out to 4.0 or is it sleeved?

The VQ40 does not work with Revup heads because the timing covers are different and longer. The 6MT has to be from a HR or VHR motor or the stock VQ40 6MT. For a swap you need wiring harness and a non Revup 6MT ECU, plus dealer ignition sync. You might need a RWD HR or VHR upper and lower oil pan because the VQ40 oil filter is on the front of the motor and it might not clear the front sway bar, the OP might be able to confirm this. The oil filter is in the front passenger side to make room for the AWD drive shaft to the front wheels on the driver side.

The VQ40 is an HR and VHR block without all the electronics in the heads. I never heard of one burning oil because it's a truck motor where MPG is not that important so it has proper piston rings.

It also does not have the issues the HR has with the main bearings or the high operating temp problems.

Thanks for the information. I honestly didn't look at this project all that much. It was an idea and then i decided it was too much work for my schedule.
