for folks that have now followed ALL of the directions and now find that when shiting gears you can BEAT the syncromech and clashing gears it is because your lubricant is TOO Slippery...I tried amsoil and crashed gears on every shift...removed it and put in Mobil 1 75-90 problem solved

Transmiision Fluid Change
I just replaced my cltuch over the weekend and will be tryin Mobil 1 75W 90 in the tranny to see how it works. I had Amsoil in the car for about 2 years with minor clutch engagement issues so we'll see how Mobil 1 pans out.

For the record.. Redline does not recommend the MT-90 for our cars..
they recomment the MT-85 which matches the OEM fluid specs (like 75W-85 something or other.) Might be why the MT-90 stuff is causing some issues. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?product=50504 |
What Manual Transmission Fluid can we buy that the auto store? I want to just pick some up at Autozone or O'Rielys, any suggestions?

Excellent write up, I am almost finished doing my fluid in my 06 coupe 6mt, I already put in 4qts of redline and theres still none leaking out of the fill hole, should I just keep pumping more fluid in there even though it only takes about 3.5 qts?

Hey guys, I know this thread is very old but I figured I'd give it a shot anyways, I have an 05 coupe and I just bought it about 6 months ago and the point where the clutch grabs is way at the top of the pedal. Literally you push it in a half inch and the clutch is fully disengaged. It makes it very difficult to drive, and it's just an annoyance. I have noticed that the clutch fluid in my reservoir is very brown and nasty looking even from the day I got it so I'm wondering if I get fresh fluid running through there if it might lower the disengagement point? Or if anyone knows how to fix it they could help me out? I already did the adjustment of my clutch by turning the rod into the fork, and I have it all the way in the fork and my pedal is I'm not even kidding you a little bit lower than my brake pedal. I know everyone says not to have it this low because the clutch won't be fully disengaged when pushed in but mine is fully disengaged a half inch from the top. I had other g drivers drive it and they were shocked how high up it grabs

Due to space, I can't jack up the entire car at once. Would it cause problems if i only jack up the front?
