Engine damper

Is Stillen the only company that makes an engine damper for our car? Well, that and the generic one on eBay. Has anyone tried either of these? I don't think I've even seen a picture of these installed before.

Helps minimize engine movement. Kinda like getting solid engine monts, etc. Just an added part.

A company called Pro-1 makes an engine torque damper for the G35.

If I got some money to waste, I'd get the Stillen.

That's what I went with, but I haven't had it installed yet.

I have the Stillen installed. It definitely keeps the TQ form twisting everything else. You will feel more TQ in the car, as it does negate much of the motor mount effectiveness.

You will also notice a few more squeaks and rattles - after all, nothing is compensating for the movement any longer.

I'd love to - but I can't take pics of my motor..I have proprietary stuff under the hood now that I can't show on film at the moment and the device bolt right up to a reveal point.

sorry man....

Here is a few pictures of the Pro-1 installed on my G. One end attaches to the engine with a curved mounting bracket and the other end to the hood bracket. The function of the damper is to limit engine movement during high torque events. IMO, the hood sensor bracket is too flimsy and would flex (the hood sensor bracket will move when I push on it). So I found a solid location, drilling a hole in the fender. I had to modify the engine cover with a little cutout to compensate for the new mounting location. I ran the damper for a few months, but unfortunately there is clearance between the bolt and the swivel joint (the last picture shows the bolt and swivel joint) creating a rattle loud enough to bug me, so I removed the damper.

i have the stillen on mine and its pretty good
a lot of people says it adds much more vibrations to car and steering wheel but i havent noticed that and ive had mine on for almost a year now.

before i put it on there was a lot of engine movement, and after there is virtually none. the car seems to also put a lot more torque to the ground as well.
