Those little S2000's are fast.

Stock vs. Stock with equally skilled driver's would probably result in mixed results in a drag race. Drag racing is weak anyways though.

My dad used to have an S2000 until I raced him and pulled on him. THen he got a new Viper and its not even close now. The S wont hold against a G with a good driver in each. I was 4 cars on him by the time we hit 100mph and still going. Put us on a track though and the G doesnt have a chance.

I didn't read all of this... ^^^^^

But what you all don't know about the s2000 that i found out through racing a friends at the track... You have to drop the clutch at SUCH a high RPM that you WRECK the clutch on the launches... and run a high 13. Without this damaging driving style, the car runs mid 14's... lol or worse. Look it up, it has been debated before, that to get to the advertised 1/4 mile you have to do something that if you were to do it 5 times your clutch would be as useful as a paper plate.

I have ran 2 S2k's to be exact and the same outcome on both, they are fast and sound mean as hell when they have CAI and exhaust I will give them that but they are not in anyway faster than a G coupe, I am stock and I ran one with a CAI and exhaust and pulled in every gear, did a rolling 1st pull and a rolling second gear pull both times I was in front by a good 2 cars and going...

Having owned an S2000 for the last 3 years (before I traded it in for my 2004 G35 Coupe), I can truthfully say that all things being equal...i.e. driver skills, cars being stock, the S2k should slightly pull on the G. My S2k had 4.56 gears in the rear end which would knock off nearly a half sec in the quarter mile and this is a popular and undetectible mod with the S2k. I personally raced two G35s in my S2k career and beat them both by a car or so up to about 70 mph which is the limit I impose on myself on the street to avoid a wreckless driving charge. BTW this is my first post and I loved my S2k but I also love my G35! Much more refined and comfy for my mature status

^yes gears on the s2k makes about 2+ cars difference compare to the stock one till 100mph. And that is a lot.
Enjoy the G35.

Being a Honda owner myself you have to give it to the s2k. Where it has the advantage is the redline. It makes power to 8k. While the G is shifting the S still has another almost 2k rpm of power left. Im not sure of the numbers but i'm sure the S has a shorter gear ratio than the G. Thats where the advantage is because we know that the power isnt equal and they are both RWD. I think stock for stock it would be a good run. The power difference would be equaled out by the weight of the two. Not bad for a 2.0 (or 2.2) depending on year, 4cyl against a 3.5. 6cyl.

No doubt, I love my girlfriends car. I love giving it a healthy run to redline...when she's not in it of course...she thinks i'll break something. But you have to give it to honda and there ability to make cars that have 200HP run low 14's(rsx-s) and sub 200HP cars like the Acura Type R run low 14's. And don't even get the discussion about swapped cars going. Who cares it's all Japenese engineering.

To me i just came from a S2000 to a 6MT coupe. I feel that it might be a close race. The S2000 didn't really feel too fast to me as compared to the G35c, thats probably cuz of the torque. But once the S2k gets up in the 6k+ range, thats when its a monster. The s2k has its advantage as well in its weight. Also if this is straight away we're talking about, I would love to see the results, but if we're talking about cornering, s2k hands down.

You wanted to sell your G after a week of owning it because you can't figure out how to drive a manual tranny and now you're asking how to beat S2000s? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Comedy gold!
