Re: Stillen Depressing

Yeah that sounds like BS to me too. 5.5 with a SC? No freakin' way. I'd be embarrased to say that I engineered a product that was that bad.

Re: Stillen Depressing

did they do the test with the still exhaust system? that exhaust system looks like a POS too. The last bend to the cans are less then 90 degrees. Talk about some nice flow on those. You would think they would make some smoother bends with the development they put in to it and how much they are charging.

who designed their kits and grills?

Stillen is just overpriced APC parts.

Re: Stillen Depressing

That's ridiculous. The Still is a total POS! I get more horsepower from my Zex Nitorus kit.

Re: Stillen Depressing

I read that too. It is sad. Luckily ATI makes an even better supercharger. Also, the brakes that still put on and I quote from the article "The stopping power of the Stillen Brakes are still not as good as the factory G35 Brembos." LOL that made me LMAO. So glad I got the brembos. Also, I wouldn't waste my money on anything made from Stillen.

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Stillen Depressing

You shouldn't waste your money on ANYTHING at Stillen. I posted a couple of days ago that I bought an Injen CAI that the guy told me was a "brand new design". I checked on the part number, 1992RD, same CAI everyone else has, just cost me $75 bucks more. Flat-out lied to by Stillen, and ripped off to boot. Shipped back inside of 24hrs. and they'll be getting a call from me.

Re: Stillen Depressing

I wish stillen got a bad review from some mag that has ***** to do it. All mags kiss but to stillen the truth is they must be paying someone. I hope some one from stillen sees this thread and see all the hate they are getting. Stillen needs rebuild its company and rebuild client trust. If you rep stillen pm me.

Re: Stillen Depressing

1. I agree with comments about Stillen. Their M.O. is to get to the market first before they have any competition, so they don't bother doing much research and development. They also gets them a ton of word-of-mouth and forum advertising, because when you're the only one on the market, everyone is going to talk about you. I'm not aware of a single product of theirs that stood up to the competition in performance or value, once the competition finally arrived.

2. On the other hand, don't rely so heavily on magazine times, 0-60 times in particular. There are just too many variables that can influence that sort of small sample measurement. Time your own car whenever possible. Most of us AT guys have beaten what the magazines published as our quarter mile time. What matters more, what your personal car runs or what some guys at a magazine ran that one day they had a car similar to yours? And if they got my car's time wrong, then they probably got the times of other cars wrong too. Race on a track, not a magazine.

Re: Stillen Depressing

Has anyone actually done a comparison of the Stillen products and competition and published any results? I'm not trying to bash anyone here for their opinion. I'm just wondering if there's any data to support the comment "..single product of theirs that stood up to the competition in performance or value"
I emailed the guys at Injen to see if there was any competitive data for the Stillen CAI v. their model. They didn't have any?? WTF?? I really find that hard to believe.

Re: Stillen Depressing

I don't agree with that at all. When looking for a rear sway bar
for my 2000 Maxima, Stillen stood far above the competition.
I bought that sway bar and the Max rocks! Bought the Stillen
HiFlow AirBox and have loved every mile with a smile since.

Re: Stillen Depressing

F stillen and injen. LOL I'm beginning to like that statement maybe we should make a song about it.

F stillen and their sales. If they cared about customers they would be a lot nicer and have products that work.
