Ultra SS Lightened Underdrive Pulley Set
What is the result of evolution? Unorthodox Racing Ultra Street Sets build upon the success of Ultra Street crank pulleys by adding the Ultra Accessory pulleys. Each accessory pulley is made of lightweight 6061-T6 billet aluminum, lighter than the factory piece it replaces, and includes lightening holes where possible. Splines and bores are precision machined for accurate fitment which makes them an excellent replacement for the brittle plastic pulleys found on many late model cars. For the most part, underdrive pulleys are great! They do in fact produce extra ponies, are inexpensive, and take no time to install. I've had them on several vehicles and have always felt an improvement.... BUT!
One situation that I encountered, and something you may want to think about before getting a set....
I had a set on my M3 (prior supercharging the engine, and when my warranty was still in effect), and one day I my check engine light came on. When I took it in for service, they found out it was a bad O2 sensor and it was replaced. Nothing to do with the pulleys, but as I was leaving the service manager mentioned to me. If something were to happen to the engine, in specific the alternator, the crank, the water pump and just about any of the other accessories, the warranty on those item could be voided, due to the use of these aftermarket pulleys. When I told him they actualy underdrive em, so in theory the accessries will work less, he said regardless. The car was engineered with them on, thus anything that may happen, could and may be traced back to the pulleys.
So after hearing that, if I were to get these for my G, and if by chance my water pump goes on me, Infiniti could turn around say - hey you changed the pulley, we can't warranty that item.
Sure this all depends on the dealer and service center, but it's something to seriously think about!
