Hmm... maybe I won't boost..

I've been looking at all the spacer/MREV2 talk, and it's got me wondering... should I even boost? It would be less expensive to add MREV2, spacer, and ECU reflash than it would be to grab a supercharger or turbo (If I boost, I'm going Stage II Stillen - at least to start off)

For the $$ I save (that's less than $1500 from what I'm grasping), I could easily do a number of other modifications for as much or less as the $5200 or so for the Stage II s/c.

Whatchya guys think? Would I easily be able to put out as much or more HP and TQ (across the board and peak) for $5000 or less than I could achieve with the s/c? (I've got 03 5AT sedan)

If so, what other modifications aside from MREV2, spacer, and ECU would you suggest to add more power? (Tires, suspension, brakes will also be coming... and I already have intake and exhaust - both by Stillen)

getting the same results going N/A vs FI will cost you more money... you will not put out the same numbers spending 5k on N/A mods vs getting the Stillen Stage 2.

Hmm, k, would it be pretty similar or quite noticable, the difference?

The difference will be quite noticable seeing as how the Supercharger gives you full boost at low RPM so you will have a lot more power on tap at all times... also, Stillen Stage 2 should be close to 300whp ... I don't think you'll get anywhere near that w/ NA mods and only spending 5k... plus you'll get bigger torque numbers with the SC.

IMO staying n/a wont even compare to going f/i especially for the money

Our cars make what....240WHP.....I doubt you can get 300 at the wheels....BUT you might be able to get enough. I went through the whole making silly power with my car already...Had a 400hp wrx with a sti suspension and tranny....Car was a riot to drive....I would do stuff in it and just think to myself "how the hell did I pull that off" BUT when I had fun in the car I got like 10 MPG and that is a big deal now a days....AND if you got bad gas which happened to me buying from sunoco, mobil, exxon.....the car ran like **** and pulled timing, NO FUN after you just dropped 40-50 bucks to fill the tank.

I plan on going, exhaust, MREV, stillen airbox and a utec. Will I get 300 whp....NOPE...BUT I would be very happy to get in the 270 range and I think that is do-able, or at least close to that range....BUT that would be more then ENOUGH for me and cost alot less money. ALSO after doing all that **** to my car....it was a PITA to sell it, and I lost a TON of money, if I just had some simple bolt ons it would've been really easy to take back to stock. BUT when you have a different intercooler, turbo, intake, and intake piping, injectors, ecu and a bunch of other parts it is a pain.
