Did some data logging last night with various "stock" intake setups

The difference is that I removed the lower resonator that sits below the airbox. When I put the stock airbox back in after having a CAI for a while, I thought the resonator would rob me of some flow just like the resonator in the G-tube. I knew it might mean slightly higher temperatures but assumed that effect would be minimal given the location of the resonator opening relative to the filter.
So did you just remove the resonator and leave the hole open?

Right now I'm experimenting and I've plugged up the lower airbox resonator with a squirt bottle cap. The induction noise is a bit deeper. Driveability doesn't seem to be impacted either.

Unfortunately not and I doubt I will. A year or so ago, I swapped the stock tube back on and the motor didn't feel as responsive at any given rpm.

Does it really? With an open air filter element?

Cuz one time, I drove around for 20 minutes and when I got home, I popped the hood with the engine on and feeling around the pop charger. Then the fan kicked on and the rush of hot air nearly burnt my arm.

You know now that I think about it, I'm not so sure. I had the stock airbox then, versus the stillen airbox now. I haven't the opportunity(nor the tools) to datalog since I put on the stillen.

But from discussions with others regarding the various intakes, the stillen has slightly better cooling properties than the JWT; neither are very close to the stock airbox. Meaning, both the stillen and the jwt will heat up more quickly than the stock airbox, but they also cool more quickly than the stock airbox.

That makes sense. I believe the fans are pullers, not pushers.

Yeah, I left the resonator off with the hole open. I thought about figuring a way to plug the hole, but that didn't seem worth it IMO. The only risk with that hole open is the ingestion of some hot air from the lower area in front of the headers. I'm sure my setup is a little hotter than with the resonator, but I'd think the flow is a little better, too. With such a small hole so relatively far from the filter, I'd think the air much more likely to be feed from the snorkel and Power Duct.
