they shouldn't. The vehicle warranty is NOT contingent on the maintenance being done at the dealership, but it does have to be done. Saving receipts for the parts used for maintenance you do is a good idea. I also only use OEM parts since nissan/infiniti warranty their own parts and would be unable to blame a problem on their own OEM part vs an aftermarket part.

The owner's manual explains how to do many maintenance items yourself, includes part numbers for common maint parts and IMO almost encourages DIY for things like oil changes.

You are the man! This is great info. I think that the dealers here in socal (the monrovia one at least) have been pretty lax with repairs that were not necessrily they fault (like a sticking cupholder buttin b/c i spilled coffee into it - they replaced it anyway).

Busting out with the M-M act, would definitely make 'em bend were something mere serious to arise.

Only water and club soda are allowed in my car. Both clean themselves up if they spill [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] I once made my friends stand in the cold and eat their ice cream that they had to have. I warned them "you can't eat it in the car". They thought I was joking. Hah.

I also make people who've been smoking "air out" for 30 minutes, or they get their window rolled down all the way home. And I'll drive fast.

That's awesome that you're getting it done. I know a few people who started "socially" in college, and ended up on the bandwagon. Half of them have kicked the habit, but it was only 3-4 years old at that time. Does being in a car that sort of smells like it key any urges? Just wondering... good luck, buddy.
