Lost control on Michelon Pilot Sports
Re: Lost control on Michelon Pilot Sports
285 in rear and 245 in front has helped a lot. Also being on so-3's makes the car feel more sure footed. The car hasn't slid ever since I put the 20's on.
Shader I'm sorry to hear about your son. I'm a father myself and could only imagine how hard it's been for you.

i totally agree with shader7. I only speed and swtich off the VDC when there is no-one on the road. If you crave to drive reckless on the the roads head to a racing track and try out ur skills over there.

Re: Lost control on Michelon Pilot Sports
my friend has the SO-3 with his cobra and they will make no difference. he is slding around just as much as me with my Poilts. I agree the SO-3 are good in the summer but they will do nothing now that its cold.
The new good year are suppost to handle just as well if not better then the SO-3. on tire rack they came in at just a tenth of a second slower then the car that had the SO-3 in there auto cross cource.

If you want a good tire for year-round performance in that kind of weather, have you tried the Pilot Sport A/S?

Re: Lost control on Michelon Pilot Sports
It's been raining a lot in the bay and I've just been driving just like I would if it was dry. I think the grip i'm getting has a lot to do with size. Like going from 245 rear to 285 wouldn't make a difference. I haven't hydro planed yet (knock on wood).
The compound of the s03 vs. pilots is different. The s03's feel softer even when they are cold. The pilots seem like dried out erasers when cold.
Maybe I'm just more of a bridgestone fan over michelin. On my bikes I prefer battleaxes over pilots. One thing for sure pilots will get very sticky, bridgestones will get to a point that they'll get too hot and just turn to goo and not stick.
so for street S03's, for track Pilots.
