around 3-6k unless you have a re up motor. G,Z, and Pathfinder motors are all the same you just need bottom end most of the time and your good.

But at the point just built it and boost MORE!

for the OP's question and anyone else who somehow blew a motor and isn't getting it replaced under warranty: you're going to spend a bunch of money one way or the other, so better to spend the extra few grand, and get a 4.5 put in there... or scrounge up an intact VQ35HR (the motor that comes on the 2007 sedans). Yeah, it'll be some work, and it'll cost more than finding a 03-06 VQ but it might be worth it for you, if you're keeping the car for a while (and will be modding). The other option would be to do as some others have mentioned, and get a built motor assuming you have a rebuildable engine (or at least some parts that can be).

other than that, just bend over and get it done by a dealer, or see if insurance will somehow cover whatever it is that happened (i think somebody who hydrolocked their engine had some or all of it covered by insurance... don't think it'll work for overboosting).

I would budget about 10K for everything (assuming you don't get raped on labor and parts). Someone always knows someone who can help you out, so this should be realistic depending on what you're going for.

If they want more then 1000.00 for labor tell them to go fly a kite. I can pull this motor and install it in one day. 2000.00 for one days work is crazy.

careful taking it to the dealership if youre trying to replace the motor. one of the possible reasons why you motor blew out was because of the SC. the dealership will void any warranty you have on it and let you eat the dust.

ps
good luck

as for the hydro lock if u have full coverage ur insurance company should cover it when i dropped mine off to get my engine there was 2 in there for it and the insurance paid for them both and to be honest infiniti should be eating the bill if u ask me cause its happening way more than it should if u ask me a complete design flaw

Wow
I paid $13,100. They replaced entire engine, transmission, and clutch. I thought it was quite expensive...
