You know, say you have a supercharger and things go boom.

How much might you be out to replace the motor?

For a new engine and other parts, without labor, it was over $8,000 from the dealer

I guess I forgot to mention, I didnt pay for this. It was covered by my warranty due to oil consumption problems

8k from the dealer. If you don't want to spend that much money find a motor from a totaled Z or G (shouldn't cost you more than 3k) and a proffessional shop that will warranty an install. My friend blew his motor in his 350z (accidentally hit the NOS while in netrual). He brought a motor from a junkyard with about 28k on for 2800.00. He then went by a dealership and cut a side deal with two of the mechanics there and got his motor installed with a few extra goodies for 1500.00

Luckily I have never blown a motor, I am just curious if I do.

But thing is that people here are saying anywhere between $4k for a used motor and install all the way up to over $15k for a new one with dealer install.

That is a HUGE difference.

Anyone else have examples?
And where would one find a spare engine? Any online resources? Special junkyards? Etc...?

Wow

That's insane. I'd find a 4.5 liter before doing that.
