High pitch squeeling

I think this topic has been brough up before. I also thought I knew what the people were talking about until today.

someone was trying to test me today on the freeway. I was in 6th gear and just wanted to play around a little bit. Stepped on the gas to the floor when I was going already about 75.

there was this horrible screaming noise. Me and my wife couldn't tell where it was comming from.

Does anyone know what it was? all my windows were up.

Re: High pitch squeeling

Did you look behind for the telltale 'patch' hahaha. Now that's power
Seriously tho, that's a strange one! Are you sure it was coming from the G? If so were there any other symptoms like loss of power or 'stumbling'? Did the tach shoot up high? That would indicate a slipping clutch. Perhaps passing under 'wires' with the radio on. A sudden gust of wind? Window down a crack?
If it's something serious, it'll develop and you'll have to get some service. Good luck..

Re: High pitch squeeling

will there was a lag in power. Possibly a loss, the G was lagging , but I thought that was just cause i was at low rpms in 6th gear.

Ya the sound was echoing in the cabin and my wife was tripping about it. don't trip I took out the camry though.

I thought it might of been the window and possibly a gust of wind. I've never heard that sound before though it was really loud.

I'll try duplicating the situation again and let you know if I find anything out.

Re: High pitch squeeling

Give her (not the wife) another 'boot' and see what happens. Power won't be as much at that rpm but you already know that. (Enough to kill a Camry tho) hahaha

Re: High pitch squeeling

LOL ya killed that camry. We had no clue what was wrong with him. He pulled up on my *** for a few minutes, I just ignored him and let him enjoy the view. Then he suddenly shot around me and cut a few ppl off then came back. I just had to do it.

Back to the noise, I was waiting for it today. Me and my better half have concluded that it's comming from the sun roof. It happens a lot in areas that have big gusts of winds going across the freeway. It sounds just like a recorder flute. yesterday I guess the gust was really strong cause it really did feel like the car was lagging. I can rest easy, the car is fine.

Wait one more noise, i'll make a new post about it though.
