Looking to get a new car in the next couple of months (tax return). I will be getting either a new G35 6mt Coupe or MINI S. The oil consumption issues of the G35 are a concern for me. From the poll thread it appears the problem is related to '05 into '06. And there was some mention of a certain motor causing the problem.

Does anyone know if the late '06's either have a different version of the motor or same motor with less oil burning problems? i.e. problem resolved. The same issue is going on over at my350z and one member said they replaced the short block and his motor was still burning oil.

Has anyone who's had their engine replaced had it long enough to do a check on oil consumption?
