CAI or Pulleys?

I just saw the group buy for the pulleys and wanted to get some input from you guys on what you think I should get first (CAI or the Pulleys...) Which will give me more power overall?

Re: CAI or Pulleys?

From the numbers I've seen you get more HP from a good CAI such as Injen's.

CAI (Nismo, Injen, Stillen + Z-tube) are all excellent bang for the buck, and east to install. Pulleys are also decent performance boosters, but are far more involved to get them in your car.

Re: CAI or Pulleys?

From what I've read, a CAI is best bang for buck and relatively easy to install. Lots of our members have the Injen, or Stillen, along with the Z-tube.
I've read that on our car the pulleys will yield about 5 or 6 hp and are more difficult to install.

IMO, it is still highly quesionable whther cai gives you any hp. Stillen for sure does not (lose 8-10 hp) per Doug from Crawford Z service. Not sure.

Pulleys DEFINTIELY give you power - but I, as many others, definitely would NOT insttall them on my car (they are single piece non-harmonically-balanced pulleys).

Re: CAI or Pulleys?

I would go with a Z-tube, as someone said aftermarket intakes seem to be questionable (one seems to lose power), and someone with a G35 has shown a 5.7whp increase by adding the Z tube. 5.7whp = 7 crank hp. $10 per hp, that's a steal. Also funny how it aligns with the 287 vs. 280 published difference between Z and G35 coupe!
