engine shut off @ 115mph
the other day i was trying to push my car to see how far can i go until the Goven thing kick in. i push it up to 115mph and as soon as i let go of the gas pedel the engie would shut off. i had own the car for 4 month now and never push it that far until yesterday. Mod that i have are, 3/8 spacer, z-tube, pop charger, and hks exhaust. please help!! oyea, its and 04 g35 coupe 6mt. thanks
115mph is the limit? Hmm, i have an 03 6MT coupe and i thought i passed 115mph messing around with some bikes on the highway. I could be wrong though, i wasn't really paying attention since i had to concentrate on not crashing.

Lol, I don't think the dealer can really help him out much... There is no way they can verify the complaint and will likely point to his mods and send him on his way. - That is the irony of the whole situation. The car works fine everywhere else between 0 and 70MPH which is all it needs to do.
Some people have a stalling issue at high speeds with cold air intakes in a 6MT car. I haven't mentioned this because, while you have an intake, its not in a mainstream of rushing air, but at 100+ I'm not sure how the air is flowing in or around the intake...
Anyway, when you lift off the pedal at such a high speed the air is still being forced through the filter, air that the engine doesn't need. The throttle is closed and the MAF is still picking up air rushing by... this will stall the car.
I suggest putting the stock intake back on to see if it still happens, or maybe take the Z-Tube off so the intake is shorter and tucked farther back into the engine bay. Becareful with the MAF though, it is pretty sensative [and expensive] so don't shock it.
And finally, disclaimer... when you go to test this out again, just be safe and don't do it around or with anyone else...

I'm guessing there is a leak when you installed the pop charger. I believe I've read a couple of incindents on this forum where it caused that. I'll try and search for it

there're no check engine light, or any kind off stall, or lagg at all. car runs great. i can push the car alot more, but once i let go off the gas pedal, it will shut down.
