Those with FI Intimidator.. which finish did you get?

I'm trying to plan ahead to this summer. I definately want to get the FI exhaust, but I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $300 to go with the full polished system, or will the aluminized system be fine? Can you see the system when the car is parked (not lowered)? Would it be better to get the stainless steel (not polished) over the aluminized? I'm also trying to think about longevity. We plan on keeping this car for a long time, so would it be worth the 300 bills in terms of the exhaust standing up to the elements longer?

Sorry for the 20 questions.

go with the stainless steel.

there really isn't a point in the polished ss kit, imo. as i understand it, whatever you choose the mufflers and tips will be polished anyway. the polished ss just means the rest of the piping is polished - which you don't reallly see anyway.

stainless steel > polished ss > aluminum

Stainless Steel. Its pointless to get the Polished SS unless youre going to be showing the car. Ive got the SS and its great. All systems regardless of their finish come with polished mufflers and tips.

S/S all the way...save your 3 beans for something else. I'm glad
I went this route. Now I just polish up my mufflers/tips when cleaning
and call it a day

not to hi-jack the thread but i got a question for those owners with 03-04 coupes that have the FI intimidator.

When you guys are driving around 2k-2.5k, do you guys that loud exhaust "hum" into the cabin? I don't know if it's necessarily drone but when I travel at low speeds and high gear, I can definitely hear the exhaust in my car, more so than stock, from what I remember.

Just making sure that's the norm and it's not just my system. my buddy jiggafree has an 05 coupe with a HKS and he can barely replicate that exhaust "hum" in the cabin. I'm guessing because he has the rev-up engine. He says he can barely cruise at around 2k because he feels his car doesn't have enough torque whereas for me, i have the non-rev up and it's very easy for me to cruise around 2k. any thoughts guys?

What's wrong with aluminum? Wouldn't it be lighter than SS?

Do you have the highflow cats also? Mine droned really bad when I had them in. But when I took them off it was alot better.

I bought the Polished SS, I just figured that since it is mainly for sound I might as well get some points for shinyness. LOL

iirc, rick said the ss is lilghter than the aluminum.

if memory serves correctly, the aluminum is a tad bit heavier than the stock exhaust.

^+1. Thats correct, the aluminum is a few pounds heavier than the stock. The SS is a few pounds lighter than the stock, and the polished is just...shiny.
