Ok how about this, if you want REAL NA power why not keep your engine stock and start a build of an m45 engine? A built v8 NA would be soooo cool in a g35 and you could get more power than the 6 with the best sound.

Excuse me while I whipe the drool off my keyboard, lol.

^ because it's a swap, that's defeating the purpose of building the all motor G.

there are far cheaper and easier ways to achieve high hp with swaps. But it's the wow factor that most of us(i think) are looking for.

Decent whp, in the mid to upper 300's and all NA, no FI.
Can't remember the site address, but it was talked about alot on a post awhile back on 6mt.
Yeah Ive seen the spec kits. but they are not that great as far as the HP gain vs the price. I put many nismo parts on the list just because I know that they can be trusted for durability. But Im sure there are far cheaper alternatives if I do a research.

Why?

If anyone was wanting "wow factor" I dont think much more would get it than a built m45 engine swapped into a G. A high hp swap that would be more power than that engine would suggest going FI anyways, which would defeat the threadstarters goal.

Personally I think its pointless to build a VQ unless its for boost. Huge money for not that much more power. If your going to spend it atleast do it logically.

I don't suppose you understand why certain people choose not to put a foreign engine in their cars. If we really wanted a different car, we'd just buy a different car.

Like you would be getting some real power with a GTR engine, but that's really going to change the dynamics of the car. So Id much rather keep some factors constant and improve upon it.

Personally I think it would be more challenging to build a VQ motor in this matter. I've always wanted to do a build like this, and with the VQ motor being so solid, I think its a great platform to start out with. But like I stated earlier in the thread, I've done my research. I was going to pursue a RB swap and also a Q45 swap. In the end what it came down to was sticking to what a G35 really was. You could say, I grew to appreciate the car. Hated the car when I bought it and now Im in love with it.

If you have a G35 you probably are in import guy, which means you love boost.

It just doesn't feel right without it

Actually...I hate the whole import scene. I just wanted a beautiful looking car that performs well and sounds excellent. To me, I look to improve on those good traits, not change the whole car completely so it doesn't look anything like the G or sound anything like it by adding boost.

appreciate the compliment..but calling me a bimmer lover might relate me to a group of wanna be thugs with 330ci that think they are the center of the universe and walk around with the keys hanging out of their pockets...

I just can't resist 330hp in a tiny package like the Z4 with significantly better looking exteriors than previous years.

If anyone is interested in going NA, check out Jeremy's NA build. He is the owner of Performance Factory, here in Orlando. He's actually thinking about selling the motor already...so if anyone is interested, PM audiblemayhem.

probably way more than a simple single or twin turbo setup (without an engine build) Probably 2.5 times more than a simple sp setup.

^ who said anything about trying to do it cheap. It was obvious that it was going to be more expansive than FI. Well worth it to me.

^^
that motor is sick running at 14.8 to 1 compression. Definitely something I was looking to do as well.
