The direct injection really makes the engine into a different animal. I don't understand why Nissian is not introducing DI into their VQ37HR

The question is the quality of US fuels..............any residual sulfur tends to react badly with direct injectors. Every sane engineer is scared to death of DI.

Toyota is betting on refiners never making a mistake in a run! The problem is instead the refiners push out low quality product with every oil scare whereas in Japan QUALITY is more important than quanity.

Actually doesn't the new 2008 Toyota have 2 seperate injectors one direct and one conventional per cylinder...................after warranty maintenace costs?

The problem is that there is a daily weekly maximum average in Sulfur which still leaves a loop hole for an ocassion defective product which hopefully get fixed in the termial where hundreds of thousands of gasoline get stored together..............Maybe yes probably NO.

Has anyone experienced the Toyota engine? Isn't that the new engine for the Camry? I'm curious how it performs. Also, does the Toyota 3.5L V6 have variable timing on intake and exhaust?
