So is there any gains with SAFC proof please

There's no way to measure a/f using any of the 03's stock sensors. The oem widebands(in the exhaust manifolds) weren't introduced until the 04.5 model.
To make use of a wideband, one must first tap the exhaust stream somewhere, preferably before the cats. This is usually done on the cat pipes, between the cats and the flanges that mount to the exhaust manifolds.
I've never installed or used an aftermarket wideband, so I haven't researched costs. There are various wideband sensors for xxx dollars. Then there's the cost of labor for tapping the extra 02 bung. Then there's the wiring, and potentially a gauge for reading the wideband.
An safc isn't going to self-adjust using some sort of closed-loop operation, so I don't see any reason in going with a full wideband setup. I'd just get some tuning time on a dyno. My local guy charges $80 per hour.

well just because someone is tunning with low throttle does not mean nothing. They might be just wasting money, thats why im asking if there is any evidence that low throttle can be tuned....
People are so ...... slow on this site..

Sorry was in class for most of the day and night. I had the AFC put in almost 2 1/2 years ago. I lost the graphs of before and after the tune somewhere in 2 years worth of junk. Anyways, it helped me out alot. Something was way wrong with the car..dont know what it was, but when i dynoed with just a CAI and AFC (untuned) i was only putting down 193WHP i believe (give or take) after the tune i was making 245 (give or take a few HP). SO it my case it helped out alot. I should be going for another tune here, since i added my 5/16th spacer 6 months ago and still havnt had it re tuned. Should be within the next couple weeks though.

I think partial throttle tuning would not be very constructive. Part throttle the ecu is running in closed loop mode, and making changes on the fly based on all the input from the various sensors. You won't know how the ecu will behave, and any tuning you do perform probably won't be affected as the ecu changes with conditions and demand.

I was thinking that too. It would have to be a patch type harness. I suppose you could do it at the ecu but it would make it much more expensive.
At least on the maxima, you tap most of the wires as they are only reading information. But for the maf, you have to splice as you are intercepting and changing the voltage to ecu to facilitate a fuel change.
