M90 Supercharger???

M90 Supercharger???

ok sooo.
I would like to know if i would be able to make my own superchrger kit w/o spending a bagillion dollars. I am interested in putting an M90 supercharger on my G. Has anyone else thought about that yet? Im not sure the size of the vortech or the stillen superchargers but know that the m90 would probably be a good size.

Any comments would be nice. Thanks

Sounds like a pretty terrible idea to me. A lot of R&D goes into those kits to make sure everything runs well..you're going to just make one?

i just want some info numb nuts

I know they have a lot of time put into them but it would be unique.

I dont know anything about the other s/c kits and im too lazy to go to the site to look at them. What sizes is available? Type of charger?

is the m90 a "roots type" blower (i think thats stillen type) or a "centrifugal type" blower (like Vortech) ?

Stillen uses a M62, M90 would be the next size up.

Provided the m90 is in the ball park as far as sizes/capacity/flow goes..... I'll say you probably won't be able to do it any cheaper than what's already out there. Unless you have access to a machine shop and some decent skills. It's the custom machining of the adaptor plate (SC to lower intake manifold) that will probably be the bulk of the cost. And the cost of the pulley tensioner, researching the right belt size etc. etc.. etc..

If you are too lazy to research what's already out there, you don't have a chance in hell doing a one off custom.

aaaha. Then it would work it would just require some different tuning. It seems like the M62 is too small for this big car. I think a M90 would be much more efficent and would have alot more potential later on down the road.

What would be involved in changing it fom the M62 to the M90 besides tuning? Would it require anything else?

LOL.... im not too lazy i just didnt want anyone to go tell me to seach when i knew someone would answer my question in like a minute. The only problems i see with having the bigger supercharger would be the making a new adapter plate to fit and to make sure there is enough room under the hood, and obviously the tuning.

So it only a half inch taller, quarter inch wider, and about an inch and a half longer. Doesnt the Stillen kit require a new hood anyways? That only leaves the adapter plate.

Used for engines from 3.0L to 5.7L which would def. give it way more potential. I know this is kind of a long stretch but i think it would be a really nice upgrade if your looking for alot of power.

Instead of maxing out the M62 and overspinning the hell out of it, you only have the M90 at half potnetial w/ the same results. Not to mention all the money you would save on cooling mods.

I see the M90 running hotter than the M62 . You would also have to think about using a water to air Intercooler under the blower . That would have to be designed , or find out where Stillen get thiers .

M90 being hotter? I never would have thought that. Wouldnt it depend on how much your spinning the blower

I maybe wrong on it , but my thought was bigger blower....more boost...and more boost means hotter intake temps
