Which should I do, Pulleys or Spacer ?

Alright, I have tried to find info on this and all I can find is physics speech and arguments without much of a clear answer. I am looking for a mod that will add some extra power without breaking the bank for my 04 5at coupe. I would love to go FI, but it's out of my budget and I have a sports bike to take care of that "need". I am looking at either a pulley set or intake manifold spacer. My key concerns are engine wear, gas mileage (Live in Bay Area, nations highest gas rate, a joke @ $4 now), and some extra power. Any suggestions or input on these is much appreciated.

5/16" spacer all the way.

It is one of the best hp/$ mods you can do.

5/16 already on order from tony@infinitiriverside. Thanks. He also gave me a a crazy price on pulleys, so it looks like in another month or 2 I may go that route too and still be VERY close to my budget.

Not really much more to do on it. Already have great sticky tires, Scotts steering Damper, exhaust, & plenty of other mods. It's an 02' R1, no more need for power there. Now I just need to get a crash test dummy track suit.

pulley's are a bitch to do on this car. The spacer is one of the easiest mods ever.

UPS tracking has it coming in tomorrow. I also noticed I have some kind of exhaust leak, almost sounds like a low budget turbo, which is great cause a local member is selling his Greddy Sp for $200 and I can fix it.

Sgtill debating whether to put back my K&N drop-in now, from what I heard they are more trouble than theyr'e worth. Any input?

I would stay away from pulleys. They tend to cause more problems and don't give much for gains...
