you're more than likely to run lean and will need to get a tune.

a 5/16" spacer alone will suffice for non-revup engines. the addition of mrev2 will cause you to run lean until you get a tune.

shouldn't you have asked this questions before you bought the two?

I think you should get it reflash...I think someone here reflashed their ECU or got it retuned because the car will run lean...

why did you cancel....best bang for the buck hands down. go with the utec for your tune. the mrev2 makes a bigger difference on the revup but still worth while on the non revup motor.

if you got a good deal on it you shouldn't have cancelled. if you were worried about running lean..you could just install the spacer first then wait until u can pick up a utec and be able to tune once you install the mrev2. or just wait altogether and have them handy when you're ready.

there are lots of people worrying about running lean, and even thought this is the case most often than not with mods such as this, it's not a huge deal, not something that by itself will damage a motor or NECESSITATE a retune IMO. A retune can work sure, but it's not NEEDED. I ran every bolt on possible back in the day and only NEEDED a re-tune AFTER I installed cams....

Plus going with a new stand alone ecu like UTEC for simple bolt ons is WAY overkill IMO.

I was really confused about this in the past, but isn't the MREV the same lower collector that is already on the non-revup motor?

The MREV[2] is not exactly either collector of a rev-up or non rev-up.

It's a modified non-revup collector which helps in either rev-ups or non-revups, preferably revups. But for a non-revup, it tends to cause you to run more lean than it would on a rev-up.

Talk to Tony, im sure he will help you.

I spoke to Tony about this same situation. My 05 A/T coupe would run lean if i did MREV2 + 5/15 th ISO. I came back to him and let him know that i was also thiking of a Technosquare Re-flash, thats when he came back and said it would be worth while. For the price though, the Non-Revup engine would not benefit much from the MREV2 if you are comparing $$ per horses. As for the rev-ups its a worthwhile investment. Unless you have rich parents who bought your car and can give you the money, get a great deal on it or just want to blow some bucks for small gain on a non-rev up get the MREV2. If not, Get the 5/15th or 1/2 spacers and you would do just about the same. ^_^

Your coupe will benefit the most from just the MotorDyne spacer ISO either
the 5/16" or 1/2". With the 1/2" spacer you'll lose the engine cover (no
longer fits). Looks like you learned your lesson about ordering "stuff" without
doing some research. When you order your exhaust system do a search
before you buy.......LOL

I also e-mailed Tony about getting the 1/2" spacer and still having the cover fit and h said that SOME people have been able to fit it in. They have trimmed the cover here and there and have made it fit. Again, this he says varies from vehicle to vehicle, hopefully i am one of those lucky ones! I am going to give it a try this weekend coming up.
