Technosquare ECU done...results are slight LOSS of power!
Re: Technosquare ECU done...results are slight LOSS of power!
something ain't right. dont go with the spark plug stuff. their is no difference in your a/f ratios, and the before and after are both too lean. You should be around 12.8:1 with the upgrade. I had to send my ecu back and forth a few times to get it right, but I had a crappy local made exhaust and thoght that was the problem. maybe not.

Re: Technosquare ECU done...results are slight LOSS of power!
I do like how the car is performing after the ECU upgrade. It seems to be much smoother than before, but where I have a problem is with the proof in the dyno. Technosquare claimed that this would correct my lean condition and increase power (Danny actually told me that I would be somewhere around 250rwhp with a/f around 12-13 all the way through) and clearly it shows that the Stock ECU had adjusted itself to show better power and smoother curve in both torque and hp over the TS ECU upgrade and a/f was almost identical if not better with the Stock ECU. This is what causes me to question whether or not this upgrade was worth it. If in fact timing adjustments were made that could affect a/f, that can't be proven at the dyno.
Still waiting on a response from Technosquare...I'm gonna call them today to get some answers...guess I'll be sending it back for a different program to try. This sucks being so far away from them and not being able to bring the car to them for tuning.

Well, it took all of about 20 minutes to get the sparkplug out, get a picture of the tip and put it back in...easy!
Looks like the tip is showing I'm running rich, which kinda contradicts the dyno sheets above?!?
I'll send this over to Technosquare and see what they say and update.

Re: Technosquare ECU done...results are slight LOSS of power!
After speaking with Danny at Technosquare today, he told me the tip of the sparkplug is the part to focus on, it's showing a bit of white spots on it and that indicates a lean condition, which indicates I need to richen up the mixture more.
I'm not too happy about not being able to use my car for the next few days and send out my ECU to be reprogrammed again, so Danny is offering a pretty good idea...he's waiting on a few spare G35/350Z ECUs to come in from Japan by the end of the week and will send me one with a new program with the changes he wants to do for a richen up the mixture and also send me one with my original Stock ECU program. Both of these will have the Immobilizer disabled and this will allow me to go to the dyno shop and when the car is strapped in and ready to go. I can get a dyno done with each ECU to see for sure which one performs better and gives the best a/f curve. This will also eliminate any question of the dyno differences and should be able to show which program performs best at the dyno.
Once I determined which one works the best, I'll drive around for 30-50 miles and take a look at the sparkplug again to verify that the best performing ECU at the dyno shows a slightly tan color at the tip to prove that it is really the best way to go.
If it turns out that the Stock ECU is the best way to go for me (highly doubt it since it's most likely way too lean) then Technosquare has promised to refund my money for the upgrade.
All in all, a little frustrating going back and forth like this, but I'm pleased so far with how Technosquare is working with me to get the best ECU program for my car with the mods I've done.

Was there any resolution to this post? did TS resolve your issues with the A/F mixture and dyno (non) gains?
