Need to Reset ECU, disconnecting battery but car still retains data

So I cleaned my ECU and now my car is revving by itself from 1500 to 2000 RPM. I want to reset my ECU, I disconnected the negative terminal and left it off for 18 hours. The trip mileage resets and all that but my radio station presets are still there which makes me believe my car is still retaining information. How is this possible? Should I pull the DSM fuse or disconnect the negative and positive leads?

Just pull the negative cable, turn on the headlights (insta depletion of stored energy) and turn back off the lights. Put the negative cable back on... Wala.

If you have a bluetooth OBD2 dongle, you can just use Nissan DataScan II (NDSII) to clear faults, then go into work support and clear self learn, those two basically reset the ECU. If you disconnected the throttle body, or cleaned it, then you can use that app to perform Idle Air Volume Learn at the press of a button (no fancy pedal dance needed).

Just because your radio retained its presets doesn't mean your ECU wasn't reset. The radio may just write them into some non-volatile memory in the head unit. If you pulled the neg terminal and left it for 18 hours, then you reset your ECU, and any volatile memory was erased. If you're still unsure, then just do the pedal dance and force an ECU reset that way.

BTW, have you found any other Nissan dealers yet?

Post is 3.5 years old, probably doesn't matter at this point, any fuel trim problems he had have likely recalibrated by now.
