Problem

This is a very hard thing to describe. It is at its loudest when the car has sat for couple hours + getting worse by the hour it seems. So...I wake up this morning start the car. Sounds fine. get it in first and give it gas the engine makes like a....clicking / metal on tin can tapping noise. Let off the gas and it makes noise as it drops down the rpm band. Give it hard gas and it sounds worse. This happens for about the first 5 minutes of driving. Then it dies down slowly until its barely noticeable. But sometimes its still obvious after driving 30+ minutes.

07 g35 coupe 6mt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to try to do some more research on my day off.

Are you using premium gas? I'd take it to the dealer...

If the oil is good - how's the performance? Check all fluid levels for that fact...

Also - could be an injector - but after the basic checks - I'd run it to the dealer.

You may have one of the oil eater REVUP engines. Its not too uncommon.

You may just get a new engine if you play your cards right with the dealer. Most won't give you any heat, but some might. Research the subject here on the boards first. Get educated before going in for warranty work.
