It smokes so much people stare at me.

Will this go away eventually?

If your running APS TT.

Check your oil reutrn line there is abig thing about cutting the oil lines so they make a better angle downward to drain the oil better.

depends on what kind of color of smoke. If white then u are in trouble. If black then u just running pig rich and a tune should reduce the smoke.

it is white smoke...
omg, so I 'm in trouble..?
what can be the problems??

I have APS ST kit..

Is it a stock block? I cracked just about every piston and bent almost every rod as well after install of my greddy kit. Basically the oil is just blowing by your pistons and exiting out the exhaust. Or it could be just an oil leak and its burning on the exhaust. Get it checked out and good luck man.

did you install the oil scavenge portion correctly? i'd look into that asap.

euiryong Jul 7, 2007 05:19 AM

APS ST kit comes with an oil control solenoid, but mine didn't and it's on the way from australia.
This might be the problem??

Well, exactly what's going on is that everytime I start the engine and start driving, it smokes crazy. But if I drive it for a while, I don't quite notice smoke.

help me out here.....

panda007 Jul 7, 2007 05:53 AM

that's the problem. the APS ST utilizes a turbo that's positioned lower than the oil pan top itself. so you'll need a scavenging unit to forcefully push the oil back into the oil pan... otherwise, the oil in the turbo will stay at the turbo, coke and cook when the turbo is hot and blow the burning remains and gas away.

seriously, do not drive too hard without the oil scavenging unit.. if i was you, i'd probably source one from jegs before even driving the darn thing.

good luck.

I have an 06 coupe with the aps single turbo kit, intake, and exhaust and Im getting smoke from the exhaust but not white smoke its black-ish and it will leave a residue on the back bumper.

any ideas of where to start looking.. or if its just a tune..

anybody know a good place in se PA ?

Black smoke usually signifies a Fuel Rich condition.

Have you gotten your car tuned?

FI'ed G Sep 14, 2007 09:36 AM

Where you smoking on WOT or decelerating? What's your Oil Level? If I'm not mistaken APS recommend not to have your Oil on "High" on the dipstik.White smoke is a little scary, are you sure it is not bluish white smoke?

joe603 Sep 14, 2007 10:43 AM

Guys....white smoke is burning antifreeze. If its puffy-white smoke then he has:

A. a crack in his block
B. head gasket is blown.

sliderg35 Sep 14, 2007 11:19 AM

+1 - If white smoke - that's it.
