trying to install oil pressure gauge, where does it plu ginto at???

a shop was saying its usually near the oil filter.

Im a noob to gauges and i had it wired up so its working, but we didnt have time to run the actuall sensor and wires for the sensor, so the guage isnt reading the pressure.

The wires to be ran comes out by where you pop the hood, could someone please help explain the best way to run the wires to wherever they need to go, and where to install the sensor.

Its on a 2003 G coupe. I was told it installs into the factory sensor which is just the idiot light???? i dunno, lol thanks guys!

I wanna do this tonight

what kindo of sensor do you have? autometer senders are a 1/8 npt fitting. You can get an oil filter sandwich plate that will provide you two 3/8 npt fittings. so you need some fittings to do the conversion and you need to block the 2nd hole (the sandwich plate is used to allow hook up of an oil cooler). Or you could use the 2nd hole for an oil temp sender.... Does that make sense? if it doesn't go to a site like summit racing and look at what the oil filter sandwich adapters look like and you'll get an idea of how to hook it up (the sandwich adapter screws in between the oil filter and the oil pan).
