MY G keeps turning off!!!

Hello all,

Hey I currently own a 2005 G35 coupe 6mt and I have a problem with the car just turning off at times. I'll be driving on the freeway and for instance I take the off ramp and next thing I know my steering wheel tightens up and my car shuts off. It's not only limited to off ramps though sometimes at just the most random times my car will just decide to turn off...! My check engine light is unlit and no other lights are lit at this time. I have taken the car to the dealer twice already and they "were unable to duplicate it" so they tested everything from O2 sensors to the charging system and they can't find anything wrong. According to them "the car is in perfect running condition" but it's not!!! I mean I don't care if they can't replicate it! The damn car does turn off and I have plenty of wittnesses. This is a pretty dangerous situation as well because I have had some close encounter. If any of you have experienced this or know what I'm talking about please let me know.

thank you,

David

yea...likely - but as internittent the issue is, it may notbe that bad, or it's something else. How long ago did you do the air cleaner work?

I'd say it's been a good month now. It seems to be getting progressively worse now that I think about it.

Maybe not the issue then. Sometimes things like this are electrical - like a battery going out on you. Have you done ANYTHING - like stereo, ipod, alarm - etc?

Does this happen when your on hills - upward or going down - or flat and driving? Does it happen when your just cruising, or only when your on the gas?

that sounds way too dangerous to drive man. I remember reading somewhere about a recall for a ignition problem. not sure if its for that problem. My car dies out also, but never when its moving. Usuaully when im at a traffic light and mines is a 5at.... I re-tightened up my battery cables and cleaned my throttle body and it seemed to fix the problem. If all your lights are going off.. it could possibly mean you need new battery terminals. check for rust or looseness.

Ummm... well I have just a really simple Infinity Baselink 2. It's like a 10" with a built in amp but i've had that thing in since i bought the car and no issues then to be honest. It happens more often when i'm like going at a constant speed on the freeway and I exit on an off ramp. Not really when I'm hauling A$$ or anything. And honestly there are no hills where I live, so it's mostly flat

I checked the batter, the cables, the alternator and nothing wrong with them. I hate driving it like this. I'm scared that it's going to turn off all the time!

Could be a fuel related issue - fuel is cutting out?? Does it start right back up? Do you actually loose power, of does the engine just shut off?

It just shuts off. Not really any lose of power and yes it does start right back up with no problems. Totally wierd, even the dealer is lost on this one.
