low humming
low humming
Hello
Earlier tonight I was working on my car and I disconnected the black and white plugs from the bose amp. A few minutes later, I put the key in the ignition and turned it so my radio would turn on. I then heard a low, constant humming (like a beep but it never pauses) coming from the car. I then started the engine and still heard it faintly in the background while idling. I turned off the car and reconnected the plugs to the bose amp. When I started it back up, the humming was still there. I circled the car several times trying to determine where it was coming from but I couldn't pinpoint it...it was like it was coming from the center of the car. I have no devices or other electronics in or near the car that could be making the hum.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Anyone know what's causing it?

Re: low humming
Why would the fuel pump suddenly start humming when I disconnected the bose amp? They don't have anything to do with each other, do they?
If it is the fuel pump...is this something that can be fixed easily?
Thanks

Re: low humming
I doubt there's any connection between the fuel pump and your Bose, but when you turn the key on, it energizes the pump and it will cause it to hummmmmmmm.

gsedanman,
What you say makes sense, but the reason I am concerned is because it never happened before until I disconnected the amp. Even though it is a low hum, it is not something I could have missed before.

Re: low humming
