anyone know how to remove the hood liner. i need to get it off so i can mount my hood light that i just made. thanks

what does that hood liner do anyways? would it be a bad idea to remove it for lightening purposes?

I beleive the hood liner acts as a heat sheild for the hood. Excessive heat would wreck the paint. Correct me if I'm wrong.
