How long to wait
How long to wait
Hey guys, haven't posted here in awhile, but have been keeping up on my reading. Anyway, I just picked up my G coupe last week and I love it. Of course I want to make it more mine so I am planning a list of mods to do. I have already matched the fogs and side markers to the HIDs. A custom V1 install is next. After that I want to add in a K&N filter, then it will get serious.
My question is how long did everyone wait before doing engine mods? I don't want to mess anything up by doing it too early.
Anyway, just in case you were curious (and I doubt you are, but here it is anyway), here is a list of the mods planned.
Match the fogs to the HIDs
K&N cone filter
Exhaust (maybe)
Additional fogs in the lower grill
Full computer with 6.5 inch LCD in dash, GPS, DVD, WiFi, internet through my cell phone, V1 sound through computer and hence through car speakers and some other stuff
Grounding kit (maybe)
Steel braiding on all hoses with anodonized aluminum (blue) connectors
More aggressive front spoiler (from the 4 piece aero package)
Someway to mount the front plate w/o drilling holes (tow hook?)
Anyway, that is the list as of now, feel free to comment if you want.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Re: How long to wait
You got some good ideas in there.
as for the front plate thing... click the "strictly Z" advertizement at the top of this screen, and then click "Accessories".
$60...
I haven't used it personally, but i hear it's pretty good. I just decided to not drill and have no license plate on front... and just hope that i don't get pulled over.
Twlight blue/Willow 6mt.

Re: How long to wait
Thanks man, I hope to make the car pretty decent and very unique (though that will be tough considering just about everything I can think of has already been done)
Anyway, for the front plate I didn't want to pay $60 for the strictlyZ part so I started playing around with things I had around my house. I think I got something worked out, all I need now is one more piece. Once I get it all straightened out I will post again with pics and instructions.

Re: How long to wait
I got the front license plate holder thing all worked out. Got it on drill free for about $10. Posted a DIY <a target="_blank" href=https://g35driver.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=13&Number=181011&page=0&vi ew=expanded&sb=5&part=1&vc=1>here</a>

Re: How long to wait
A K&N filter and exhaust won't hurt anything mechanically. Your other mods are electrical, as long as the install is professionally done you should have no problems.
