Oil change frequency?

I have a new 07 G coupe. I have 2200 miles on it.
The service/owner's manual says to change the oil at 3750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first.
I'm at 3 months this week.
I've owned many cars where I changed the oil at no more than 5000 miles and have had no problems. Assuming my car has Syntec in it, as the dealer states, changing the oil at 2200 miles seems like overkill. I know oil is cheap compared to the car and it's important.
I emailed the service manager and he said ignore the months and change the oil by 3750 miles. I was suprised by that.
What do you do?

my car is 8 months old and has 5100 miles on it, I change the oil at 3 months, period. Bring my own RP 5w-30, K&N filter, dealer changes it for $8.00

Change it at 3000 miles. Don't worry about time unless it's over a year.

I try not to go a mile over 3000 now. I drive the car a wee bit too hard to risk waiting for oil changes.

Wait.. are you guys all talking about using normal oil? Or are you guys changing oil every 3xxx miles on full synthetic.. Because I use Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and I was going to change it every 3500 miles... Can you run on that oil longer then?

I'm running Royal Purple 10w-30 synthetic and change every 3k. If you have synthetic and don't drive that hard you can go up to like 5k or 6k, just depends on how you drive.

Synthetic can go way more than 3000, but it's the filter that's usually the weak point.

I change the filter at 3000 +1 quart to top it off, and do a full oil and filter change at 6000.
