BCM Options no longer available?

I took my car in for service last week. One of the things I asked them to do was to change some settings in the BCM. The service manager said the following settings were available in 03, but not in 04. Has anyone had the following options set in a 04 Auto Coupe?

1. Door Lock/Unlock (with single click on keyfob)
2. Anti-lock Out (prevents locking keys in car)
3. Remote Auto Locking Function Mode (Doors automatically lock after exiting car)

Thanks,
Dave

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

This is a good question. I went to look in the Service Manual, but could not find any reference to the BCM customization features. I know people have posted these options, but I'm wondering what document they came from. ????

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

Noremac,
My '03 Coupe ESM lists BCM in the Alpha Index which describes all the systems controlled by the BCM directly.
In that BCS pdf file, there are many links to each system which may contain a system customization chart such as we have listed in our FAQ forum. HERE.
Perhaps the charts are not in the ESM and were only extra hard copy.

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

I don't think the BCM customization chart that I posted was ever part of the ESM. It may be part of the package that the Infiniti Dealers get with the Consult II since it's required to make any BCM changes. I'll check with my sources at the Infiniti Dealership and see what they say if I get the chance tomorrow.

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

I've searched all the ESM files for the word "customization" and found nothing. The manual doesn't seem to acknowledge that this capability even exists!

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

Gord & Noremac, If you could ask at your dealerships, I'll ask at mine this week when I pick up my K&N CAI.
I'd be surprised if the '04's BCM can't be customized as the '03's can be, but we'll see.
It sounds reasonable that the customization charts accompany the Consult II and not the ESM.

Checked with the Infiniti guys today. No changes on programming options on the 2004 G35. Still able to program via the Consult II.

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

I believe that they can charge 30 to 60 minutes of labour time to do the changes.

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

My dealer said they'd do it once for free.. as a customization to the new car purchase. After that, about $80 a pop.

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

Each dealer I called charges something different. I like what ryo said. I had told them to change the headlights settings to 120 seconds for free and they agreed since the xenons will benefit. I'll work on him for the other stuff tommorrow after he fixes the driver door rattle and rear deck rattle. The first time SHOULD be free since I am customizing the car to my liking after purchase. Thanks for the info.

Also is the sensitivity adjustment different than the off time setting adjustment...2 diff things right?

Re: BCM Options no longer available?

Yes, they are 2 separate adjustments as per the BCM Customization Chart
