My car just flooded 2weeks ago and now the insurance is going to total it
I want to buy the car back from the insurance and rebuilt the engine? does anybody know any good shop that can rebuilt the engine in Jacksonville, FL area? Any help will be appericiate it, I can't let go off my car I'm too attach to it

I've seen fresh watter flooded cars fixed and running like new and reliably for years. If you do keep the car make sure to get everything dried up, you might have to take the carpet out and leave it out for a few days. Then have a tech disassemble all of the connectors that got wet, dry them and lube them or spray them down with WD40. If they are rusted already get a new harness.
If the engine is bad drop in a used one, it will be cheaper and faster and you can probably get the harness from the same car.
About 3 years ago I had my shop in the back of a salvaged car dealer, I remember him saying that flooded cars were some of the best bargains since there was zero body damage and most of them had good engines, you just need to know what to do to get them in proper shape.
