my car shut completely off a couple days ago..i was on the highway and my car just shut off..i stepped on the gas,didnt do shiet..so i pulled over to the side of the road...i turned my car back on then the service engine soon light is on my dash...im goin to the dealership this monday to see whatsup

^^btw i only have 29,500 miles...i bought my car used at 25,000..so i dont know whats up..maybe b/c i was suppose to have my oil changed 1000 miles ago? maybe?

Ya i was told "service engine soon" only has to do with maintanance like oil changes but why the car shut off on the highway i have no idea....

Mine Came On Too At 26*** Miles, Randomly, So I Changed My Oil And Reset My Ecu, Then It Went Away But 2 Days Later It Came Back On I Have No Idea What It Could Be...anyone???

aftermarket intake? if so, there are some which kill the car at speed - can't remember which one did it now. Searching will reveal the answer.

yeah, most recent, HFC's, but that was like 2k miles ago, checked and nothing is loose

I just got this "service engine soon" when i installed a K&N drop in filter.
ah so worried if something I did had messed up the car for it to show the "service engine soon" light , it may need to get a oil change, who knows. But why all of a sudden after I changed the air filter

did you mess with the MAF sensor in anyway?

i think i unplug it to maneuver the intake arm then plugged it back in thats about it for interms of messing with the MAF.

As long as you didn't touch it with anything nor if you hit it with anything else.

Did you disconnect the battery for a while to see if that resets everything?

I did use a plier to remove the plug as it was not nudging a bit when I tried with my hands and then use my hand to plug it back in.
Did not disconnect the battery, I will do that later on.
