Haltech

Hey guys I was looking the Haltech E6X. I have a UTEC and I am looking to go to the next step. I like the F Con V Pro but I have to have someone else do all the work, which isn't really good for me. The Haltech looks to have good features and is a good system. I was more looking to see if anyone has run the E6X in paticular, or if anyone knows Haltech systems in general. I am a very hands on person and LOVE to do work on my own car, thats how I learn obviously with in safe perameters and then let someone fine tune it, but I love learn how to tune engines. If anyone has any input it would be very much appreciated.

For those who don't know I have a fully built Twin turbo engine so this system will not be going to waste on a "near stock" car.

Thanks
Chris

Well even though nobody replied I bought the Haltech Platinum series Plug and Play EMS. I hope this will work out good for my engine. I have a serious race engine, and I need a really good engine managment. IF anyone has dealt with Haltechs before I would really appreciate if you contact me and I can talk to you more in depth about the system.

Thanks
Chris

Not many Haltech fans/users on here. How much did the setup cost you? What benefits do you see in it?

Just received the Haltech and man does it consist of A LOT of features. Its gonna be difficult for me to tune but I think I will have good success with it. I mean I have only had it for about 5 hours and I am really starting to understand all of the options and inputs it has.

Congratulations on your new Haltech... Very slick piece of equipment.

I think it's going to be very popular once more people get them and tuners become familiar with them.

i've been using the haltech for about 3 months now with no problems. Where did you buy the haltech from? Your best bet is to contact Hal at Injected Performance and speak to him. Hal's a great bloke and he will def be able to help you tune your Haltech to its max potential. best of luck buddy

Just thought I would give an update. I was down at AAM for a couple of days getting my friends car tuned and finalized. I got the New Haltech Software and Firmware loaded up and I got a map that I am working with and seeing how it goes. So far I have gotten it started up and idling well. Tomorrow comes the street test (after putting on exhaust fully). I will let you guys know how this goes. I am not a Pro Tuner but I know a good bit so hopefully I can get some power out of it then take it somewhere to get fine tuned

This program/EMS is awesome it has soooooo many features and capabilities just for looking over it and working with it for the past week. Talk to Sharif@Forged that is who I talk to all the time and they always have great advice and always willing to help you out I reccomend them more then anybody!

Hey, congrats on your purchase! You are in good hands with Sharif, he made the right call getting you the best engine management available for your g35

If you need anything let me know. Sounds like you have it under control, but if it would help I can build a base map that should get you close.

Well it has been a couple of weeks now of working on the Haltech and I must say overall it has been going very well. I am was having some problems with my AFR but then it was discovered that a new wideband did the trick and now I am starting to really get this thing going. As far as tuning goes this system seems to get better but more complicated every day and i LOVE it!! lol. I also just purchased the boost control solenoid from Injected Performance and I can't wait to hook that thing up and work on some different types of boost control espically with the open loop boost control option.

I was wondering if there is any wideband out there that has an input for 2 o2 sensors. I am looking to monitor both sides of the engine and since I have a true dual exhuast I need 2 o2 sensors and something that is compatable to have a hook up for the o2 sensors. I would use the Haltech but my car since it is an 03 has a narrow band sensor and doesn't seem to really work, nothing really registers. I would prefer a wideband anyways even if the narrow band did work properly.

I think the Haltech can receive input from 2 "external" widebands, but I don't know how to set that up exactly. I have an 04.5 and it reads the stock widebands for closed loop AFR feedback at low load. I also have a TXS wideband with the O2 sensor in the passenger side and I will say that it reads very close to the stock widebands (as read by Cipher), so not sure you definitely need to read both banks.

I have not heard of a single wideband controller that could drive two separate O2 sensors.

The reason I need to read both side of the engine is because I am having problems with cylinder #4 and I think I am getting a false reading. I mean I guess I could just switch it over to the passanger side to get a better reading but then I would also want to monitor cylinders 2,4,6 to make sure they are ok too, and be able to correct cylinder #4 with the injector trim and timing trim on cylinder #4.

I have yet to figure out why this cylinder is like this. I am not sure, the cylinder seems to be firing in the right sequence and fuel is getting into the cylinder just I am not sure on the exact amount of fuel.

With two wideband inputs, Haltech will make adjustments specific to the bank that is running rich/lean. How do you know one cylinder (#4) is in trouble? Give me a ring to discuss if you don't mind. Also we have widebands in stock if you need another. 859-224-0461
