Need some new battery advice!

Hey guys,

I have a 2004 Coupe. I keep hearing Group 35 for the Coupe and 24F battery for the Sedan. Anyone have some recommendations for a replacement coupe battery? I was looking at the Optima Yellow/Red Tops as I have a sub, amp, computer, touchscreen hooked up to the battery. If someone can confirm the Group 35 size for the Coupe I'd appreciate it!

Unless you are looking for a light Wt. battery . Go to NAPA or any other parts store and get thier brand that is the same size . I dont think the high priced battery's have double the life span as the cheap ones do . You will pay double the price but wouldnt get double the life span . Save your money .

Thanks I was looking at an Interstate Batteries one or just the regular Infiniti/Nissan battery. It has served me well. I take it though the Group 35 size is the one I want for the Coupe, correct?

Because you have a stereo, I'd recommend a yellow top Optima. You have to modify the positive fuse bracket and I'd throw on a thicker negative cable too. Here's mine!

I just put in an Optima Red top 34R into my sedan. With the included spacer for the bottom, it fit exactly as the OEM did. I didn't mind paying the big bucks for the Optima because my baby deserves the best.

A big stereo may warrant a good battery . But do you think it will last twice as long as a $65 battery ? Why pay $125 to $150 for a battery just to say I got the best when you dont have that big stereo .

changed to red top

well just got done switching the battery with the oem one. new red top 34R weighs in at 38.8 lbs just as listed on the website. weighed the old one too, it came at 34.8 lbs. the liquid was low inside of it so that may have something to do with it. i guess both would weigh in at around the same.

Well lesson learned. With the cold weather of late my Interstate Battery replacement which I purchased when I started this thread is now dying. In the cold it had been struggling to start a bit and now after leaving my car off for around 3 days straight it now won't start at crank.

The gauges, lights, everything will turn on but when I go to turn over the engine I just get the 'click, click, click' sound.

Now I'm looking into my cabling, starter and battery replacement. Could anyone suggest me the best place for a yellow top?

With my carputer, stereo and all I think I will just go with that one now.
