Out of curiosity, quick question for 6MT owners....

Was just curious what everyone else does--What's the lowest speed that you would normally cruise in 6th gear? The lowest I go is 45mph, otherwise I drop it down to 5th gear. I just don't like the lagging feeling when cruising below 1500 RPMs....

depends on uphill and downhills.

eventhough i'm usually heavy on the foot, i do try to conserve gas whenever i can. I usually pop it on 6th on downhills when cruising but i find myself down shifting going uphill if i don't get enough momentum for 6th gear.

I think the 6MT was meant for lead-footers IMO it feels like the car shifts smoother when I'm on the gas a bit, and shifting at a bit higher RPMs.... When I try to be conservative and accelerate slower, shift earlier, it just feels notchy.... but if I'm cruising on a two-lane road and the guy in front of me isn't going any faster, I'll shift to a higher gear and cruise...

I'll upshift to 6th ~45mph when driving normally, but will allow it to drop to 35mph before downshifting unless I need to accelerate

Not sure about speed, but the lowest I cruise in 6th gear is 1800 RPM.

55mph would be the slowest i'd cruise in 6th, or about 1900rpm. i think when i shift to 5th at that point the rpm's are at ~2400 which is fine too.
