7500 mile service

I just called my Infiniti dealer to set up an appointment for the 7500 mile service. The guy basically told me all I really needed is an oil change. He said there really isn't any need to do things like brake inspection yet until the next couple of service visits. What do you guys think? I've read about some 7500 mile services costing well over $100 so if what this guy said is true, which makes sense since he should be telling me the opposite if he's lying, it'd be pretty cool.

Take a look

All you really need to do is some routine inspection and a tire rotation. My dealership did mine for free during the 9 mo oil change. Get the oil change and save the $100 for a nice dinner.

Re: 7500 mile service

It includes tire rotation and balancing, which my dealers charge over $100 for.

Balancing isn't necessary, and rotation shouldn't be that expensive.

Re: 7500 mile service

rotation on the coupes with 18's are like 40$ a tire that's probably why.

Re: 7500 mile service

It's a waste of money to rotate tires on a coupe, if you ask me.. all that you pay for remounting tires on the opposite rim is going to cost you more than it would to just buy a new set of tires a little bit earlier. More important to keep the tire pressure and alignment in spec to keep the tires from wearing unevenly in the first place.

I agree with ryoken.

Sounds like your service advisor is an honest guy. Feel privileged to have him within 500 miles of you.

Re: 7500 mile service

When I rotated mine I noticed an immediate difference.

Re: 7500 mile service

I skipped my 7500 and 15K mile service. I will take it in for the 30K mile service. I went to Mobile 1 at 7500 with stock filter. Engine has no problems, I notice zero oil burn, and is smooth as butta.

Re: 7500 mile service

I did my 7500 mile service on my coupe. I had them also fix my squeeking sunroof. Wasn't too bad costwize. I usually skip the basic 3500 mile services for just oil changes but will pay for the intermediate services 15k and 30k.

Re: 7500 mile service

They're not free, though some dealerships will give you a few free oil changes with a new car purchase. I only got 1, and that's because my car was a couple weeks late arriving.

Re: 7500 mile service

Is it really worth rotating (switching sides) tires on the Coupe?
seems your opening pandoras box having the 18" rims on a wheel changer for that....I'd be more worried of the rims getting scratched than the tire wear being a little uneven...

If you keep the front end in alignment and maintain proper tire pressure..I don't see any real need to do the rotation.IMO.

My car currently has 7,000 miles, and it tracks straight with no pulling at all...I think all who put the nix on the service are probably correct...Leave well enough alone! 2old4this

Re: 7500 mile service

HUH? 1 free oil change? My sales guy said my oil change is free for the first 3 years and I got an extra year as part of my negotiation. Am I the exception?

3 years of free oil change? Do you drive a G or a BMW? My saleman gave me one free oil change. If you got 3 years free on a G, that's an awesome deal.
